Local 880 is proud to announce Milton Jones as the new International President of UFCW.
President Jones brings over 45 years of UFCW membership experience to this role, starting as a Kroger courtesy clerk and rising through various positions including organizer, Regional Director, National Bargaining Director and most recently as International Secretary-Treasurer.
Under his leadership in that role, our union achieved its strongest financial position in history, providing us with stability and resources to continue fighting for workers’ rights across the country.
We look forward to working with President Jones and the newly elected leadership team of Secretary-Treasurer Shawn Haggerty and Executive Vice President Lisa D. Pedersen, who join current Executive Vice Presidents Stuart Appelbaum and Dave Young.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to former President Marc Perrone for his dedicated service to our 1.2 million members. Beginning as a grocery clerk in Arkansas over 50 years ago, Marc led us through numerous challenges with unwavering commitment to improving the lives of workers and their families.
Your Secretary-Treasurer Carl Green and I have personally worked with President Jones over the years and couldn’t be prouder of him stepping into this role as International President. With his leadership, I know we will continue the fight for better wages, safer working conditions and a stronger voice for all UFCW members!
