UFCW Local 880 is an inclusive, dynamic, member-driven union of more than 20,000 hardworking people from Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Over 90 years ago, our union was founded by brave workers who demanded an end to 80-hour work weeks at poverty wages. They showed that together, we can make a difference in our own lives and our communities by striving for a more just world. This legacy of unity, determination and strength lives on today as we stand shoulder to shoulder, ensuring our voices are heard in the fight for fair treatment, rights and dignity in the workplace.

In a world where it can feel like everything is stacked against you, your union is a source of hope and strength. At 15, I started working at Piggly Wiggly, eventually doing nearly every job in retail and later experiencing the grind of warehouse distribution. I know firsthand the struggle of balancing work with family, making ends meet and worrying about the future. In order to bring change, I realized I needed to step up and actively contribute. In 1988, I started working for my local union and had the privilege of representing and fighting on behalf of workers in a variety of fields, including grocery workers, food processors, truck drivers, healthcare workers, warehouse workers and more. I have been striving with our members for higher wages, stronger benefits and better lives since then.

This website is filled with important information about your union membership, but the most important thing to know is this: the strength of the union comes from You. An informed and active membership is the backbone of our dynamic organization, and your involvement is key.
