United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 880 is proud to announce that its members have voted to ratify a new contract at Save A Lot. This marks the second contract ratified by over 100 employees at the Save A Lot distribution center in Austinburg, Ohio, since joining the union.
Bill Corbe, an employee at Save A Lot and member of the bargaining committee, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement. “As part of the bargaining team, I saw firsthand the challenges we faced. This contract reflects the hard work and unity of our members and shows us what we can achieve when we stand together.”
The bargaining committee, consisting of workers from the distribution center, played a crucial role in navigating the negotiation process.
The newly-ratified contract will go into effect January 1, 2024 and includes substantial wage increases, premium pay and enhanced seniority rights.
“This new contract is a testament to our members’ solidarity and determination. Even though the process was at times contentious, Save A Lot worked with us to get an agreement we can all be proud of,” said Miles Anderson, President of UFCW Local 880.
