We are proud to announce our members overwhelmingly ratified new contracts with CVS in Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown! This victory is a major achievement for our members and their families, securing fair wages, improved benefits and enhanced working conditions.
Key highlights of the new contracts include:
• Increased Starting Wages
• Yearly Wage Increases
• Longevity Increases
• Store Security Improvements
• Holiday and Vacation Improvements
• Maintenance of Health and Welfare Benefits
• Maintenance of Pension
“Our members on the bargaining committee negotiated a contract they can be proud of,” said UFCW Local 880 President Miles Anderson. “It’s about respect. Our members helped build this company, and this contract reflects their hard work and dedication.”
Five union members sat on the bargaining committee, bringing a combined 173 years of experience to the table. Committee member Lisa DiLauro, a Shift Supervisor at CVS in Mayfield Heights, remarked on the contract: “Maintaining benefits like healthcare and pension means everything to my family. It provides us with stability and peace of mind for the future. Additionally, the wage increases and longevity raises for long-time employees recognize our dedication and commitment to CVS. These improvements truly make a difference in the lives of workers like me.”
Our CVS members showed us what can happen when workers stand together and participate in the bargaining process. If you’d like to get involved, please attend our upcoming members meetings!
